Here’s how it works:
- Right-click on the destination folder and choose Properties.
- In the General tab, click on the "Advanced" button.
- Then, enable the "Encrypt content to secure data" feature.
- To apply the encryption attributes to the folder, click "OK".
Creating a password-protected folder is as easy as this:
- Right-click on the folder you want and choose "Properties".
- We will find the "Properties" button at the bottom of the "General" tab, which will allow us to access the "Advanced" options.
- We can choose "Encrypt content to secure data" in the "Advanced" options to set up password protection on files or folders.
Click on the compressed file with the right mouse button (or press and hold on your touch device) to insert a password.zip or a protected compressed folder. After choosing Properties, click on the Advanced button. To protect the data, check the box "Encrypt contents".
The method to protect a folder with a password without using programs is as follows:
- After right-clicking on the folder to be password protected, click on Properties.
- Choose General.
- To protect the data, click on Encrypt content.
- Then click on Advanced.
- Finally, click "OK".
To protect a workbook folder with a password, you need to follow these steps:
- In the Review tab, click on Protect Workbook.
- Enter a password in the Password box.
- Then, enter it again and select OK to confirm.
