In the digital world, "DM" generally stands for "direct message," which in Italian means "messaggio diretto." A DM is a private way for social media users to communicate with each other. Only the two of you can see the content of a direct message. So, how do you send a DM on Instagram? Here’s how:
- On the top right of your Instagram home, click on the airplane symbol.
- You can attach a photo or video directly from your gallery.
- Choose the name of the person you want to send a private message to.
- Finally, press Send!
To view DMs on Instagram, follow these steps:
- After opening Instagram, disable your internet connection.
- Tap on the airplane icon in the top right corner to access the private message section.
- Find the message you have received and tap on it to read it.
To respond to DMs, follow these steps:
- Visit Instagram using any web browser.
- In the Messages (DM) section, choose a conversation located on the left side of the screen.
- Tap on the message you want to reply to directly during the conversation.
The common term to describe messages sent through this feature is "direct." In other words, these are messages that are sent in Instagram’s private chat.
To start a conversation with a girl on Instagram, you can either reply to her DM or initiate a new conversation by typing her name. Then, tap on the pencil icon in the top right and click on the Chat option to start the specific conversation.
