To start Windows 7 in Safe Mode when the computer is turned off, follow the steps below:

  1. Restart the computer by pressing the F8 key repeatedly.
  2. Use the arrow keys to access the Advanced Boot Options menu in Windows, select Safe Mode, and press Enter.

To restart a frozen Windows 7, select System Restore Options in the command prompt. To check for damaged, invalid, or deleted system files, type "chkdsk C: /f". Restart the computer afterwards.

To start the computer, press F8. Choose Start in Safe Mode. After reaching the Windows environment, click on Start. In the search bar, search for "system restore".

To restart Windows 7 from the BIOS, repeatedly press the F8 key at the BIOS screen until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears, as shown in the following image. If the menu does not appear, restart again and try again.

As known, F8 no longer works when booting into Safe Mode. However, it is possible to reactivate it using the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) Edit command. BCD Edit is a built-in tool that allows you to adjust how the operating system is started. This allows you to quickly reactivate the F8 boot menu.

To start system recovery, turn off the laptop and press the F11 key multiple times after pressing the power button. Then, select "Troubleshoot", "Advanced Options", and "System Restore". Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

When the computer starts, press F8 repeatedly. Select Safe Mode with Command Prompt in the Advanced Boot Options. Type: "To open System Restore, search for "rstrui.exe" and press Enter.

To use the OS backup system to restore Windows 7 without a CD, click on the Start button, search for "restore" in the search field, and select "Backup and Restore using the mouse".

There are several reasons why the computer may not boot:
